An agent asset inventory is a single, verified list of every asset an organization's AI agents run on — skills, instruction files, memories, prompts — across vendors, machines, and people.
An inventory that trusts its own collectors drifts into fiction. The three standard corruptions: ghosts (deleted on the platform, alive in the list), misses (real assets never collected), and false positives (platform defaults counted as user assets). A 763-row inventory audited by ID against 21 platforms held only about 400 real rows.
Read-back verification on a schedule, content-hash deduplication instead of title matching, and treating platform-provided defaults as a category the matcher knows.
