Agent memory files

Agent memory files are the persistent notes an AI agent keeps between sessions: user preferences, project context, corrections it has been given. Unlike a conversation, memory survives restarts — which makes it an asset worth governing, and a liability worth auditing.

Why memory needs auditing

Memory is written by the platform, not by you, and collectors routinely get it wrong. In a measured audit, one platform's memory collector missed all 8 real saved memories and stored two lines of the settings page's placeholder text as if they were user data — a cell that looked healthy on every dashboard.
